I recently bought a new laptop that stopped working after about a week after I bought it. Many important and valuable files I had in it were deleted and cannot be restored. Do you think I can file a claim against the manufacturer?

Normally a manufacture's liability is limited to the hardware only. Although the liability may vary depending on the country of your residence. We suggest you contact a data recovery service provider to check if the data on your hard disk can be restored. A manufacturer will only repair/replace your hardware.
